What else the bank looks at
- Credit score. Most banks look for a CIBIL score of 750 or more. A score of 700 to 750 can still work for entry cards.
- Your own bank first. The bank where your salary goes, or where you hold a fixed deposit, already knows you, and often has a pre-approved offer in its app.
- Where you live. Some banks issue some cards only in certain cities or PIN codes.
- One at a time. Each application is a hard enquiry on your credit report. Several in a few weeks can pull your score down and look risky to the next bank.
How this works
Saifu compares your answers with each bank's published minimum age and income, for salaried or self-employed applicants. 84 of 319 cards have a published income minimum; for the rest the bank decides case by case, so they are listed separately. Banks can ask for more, and the bank makes the final decision. Within each group, cards are ordered by what they would earn an everyday spender of ₹30,000 a month in a year, after the fee.
